Overflow Rooms
Nearly all rooms at the InterContinental have been sold (there is very limited availability). Therefore, we are pleased to announce the availability of additional lodging at the lovely Raphael Hotel, located directly across the street from the InterContinental. Although we have not set aside a block of rooms at the Raphael, we recommend you contact their Reservations Department directly at 816-756-3800 and request the "KU Med Rate" of $135, which is their established rate for individual travelers. You may also call the toll-free number, 1-800-821-5343, during the following hours (M–F, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.; Sat 10 a.m.–4 p.m., and Sun 11 a.m.–3 p.m. CST). It is important to call during the hours aforementioned to obtain the KU Med Rate, as the afterhours Central Reservation Service does not have access to the KU Med rate. Please contact Sonora Thigpen at sthigpen@kumc.edu or 913-588-4499 should you require additional lodging options.
Conference
This exciting conference is celebrating its 35th anniversary in the land of barbecue and jazz, Kansas City, Missouri! The conference is a vital forum for academic educators, staff developers, continuing educators, entrepreneurs and consultants. Participants discuss pressing issues and concerns, share ideas, network with professional colleagues, and leave rejuvenated with specific plans for action in their own work environment.
This year your opportunites for learning and networking abound with three pre-conferences and six plenary and general session speakers who will challenge your thinking about how to create and use transforming exchanges in education and practice. In addition, you will have over 200 podium, poster and round table presentations from around the United States to choose from. And of course, there will also be ample opportunities to dialog and enjoy the city of fountains, jazz, & barbeque!
See the Day-at-a-Glance brochure here (added 6/22/08).

Transforming exchanges are exchanges of information between people that result in personal transformations: each person participating in the exchange gleans some new insight, some new experience or some new learning.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful,
committed citizens can change the world;
Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
